I am the wife of an incredibly patient man, and together we have 7 amazingly unique and fantastic children. I highly value authenticity in relationships. That is what you’ll find here – no fluff, just simple herbalism, real food, and authentic living.

While I am truly a big city girl at heart, I long for more country space where my kids can dig holes with abandon, we can grow a massive garden, and I can pretend to be brave around a flock of our free range chickens. For now, we’re doing all that we can on our faux-stead in the suburbs until we can make our homestead dream a reality.

Formerly, I was an oboe major at university. After graduation and marriage, I found myself diving into the natural living world. Subsequently, I taught natural childbirth education classes for several years and am a certified birth doula. Now my current passion is learning about healing and maintaining my family’s health through herbalism and other natural remedies. While the study of herbalism is expansive, I sincerely believe that anyone can use the basics of plant remedies in simple and accessible ways.

I was a terrible cook at first. Thankfully, I have moved on from boxes PastaRoni to making my own wholesome meals from scratch. It’s a thrill to enjoy your own fermented foods and truly from-scratch creations. (The only thing better is when the kids gobble it up, too!).

We homeschool, and try to focus on the true, the good, and the beautiful things that the world has to offer. Literature is a family passion. We enjoy playing games and watching movies together. I can honestly say that I love being around my kids. It’s incredible to watch your children grow into their own interests through natural talent.

I’m glad you’re here! I hope you will find some encouragement and inspiration as I share my journey with simple herbalism, real food, and authentic living.
